Local Aussie on UK O.E. Convinced $8 Meal Deal is Great Value

It’s summer in Britain and the Pimms is flowing.

But that’s not the only thing British locals are excited about this year because local Aussie, Lachlan Burns, has just landed at London Heathrow and he is ready to take on the world.

Normally one to scoff at a $7 pie, Burns is more than happy to pay AUD$8 for a sandwich, drink and a packet of munchos.

“I’d never buy a Coles sandwich at home for $7, but a sandwich, drink and chips for four quid sounds bloody good to me!”

“I’m not sure what this “London is expensive” thing is about”.

"Even the beer prices are great if you go to a Whetherspoons. There's no music or TVs and there are a few shady characters, but if you go with a group it's not so bad".

"My favourite is the tuna and sweetcorn. How good".

We tried to follow up with Lachlan three months later but his landlord said he’d done a runner.
